Media Studies
Media Studies The magazine is a joint project of the Syndicate of Journalists of the Czech Republic and selected university departments in the Czech and Slovak Republic dealing with academic reflection of mass media role and professional communicators' training. Not focusing on academic readership only, the periodical aims at offering theoretically and methodologically open, interdisciplinary-orientated discussion, accentuating the critical reflection of mass media social functions. The magazine will bring up-to-date theoretical issues and research into mass media and their users, both in local and global contexts. Furthermore, the Media Studies endeavours to pay special attention to professional issues of Czech and world journalism, thus following the Brno-based project of the Revue for Media, which aimed at popularising mass media theory and research between years the 2001 and 2005.

The Media Studies' fundamental conception lies in a reviewed quarterly also publishing, apart from regular theoretical and empirical papers, translations of foreign-language papers, research reports, high-qualitystudent papers, essays, reviews of professional publications, andcurrent news in the field of media studies and journalism. The Media Studies are issued four times per a year (three issues in Czech and one issue in English).
